Colorado Rocky Mountain School

Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) was founded in 1953 and is a coeducational independent boarding and day school for grades 9-12. The school’s location, on a ranch property that expands over 300 acres in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, provides a basecamp for learning, experience, and adventure, and is home to 180 students from across the world.

CRMS’s curriculum integrates challenging college-preparatory academics, a unique arts program, and an active program consisting of mountain sports, athletics, and service. Through connections to nature, meaningful work, and opportunities to collaborate, students experience remarkable growth while developing self-confidence and compassion for their communities and the greater world.

UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS Interim Immersion Each year in February students spend an immersive two weeks exploring an experience or project outside their regular classroom with the goals of learning new ideas and skills, and understanding and serving others.

The Outdoor Program The Outdoor Program places a strong emphasis on character development through annual signature trips including the Outdoor Orientation (a ten-day backpacking adventure for all new students), and Fall and Spring Outdoor Trips, where students form meaningful connections with nature, peers, and faculty.
